Air fryer french toast is ready to become your family’s new favorite breakfast! Perfectly sweet and deliciously golden-brown, this recipe is easier than ever!

French toast is such a wonderfully classic breakfast, bringing you back to the mornings of yesteryear when your parents would lovingly heap those cinnamony slices in front of you, ready for you to slather them with (maybe a little too much) syrup!
The days of cooking them over the stovetop or griddle are behind us, though, because your favorite kitchen appliance–the air fryer–is here to deliver in a major way.

What ingredients do you need to make air fryer french toast?

The ingredients are super simple, but each one contributes to an amazing air fryer breakfast recipe. Here’s what I used:
Texas Toast – This is the best option for making french toast in my opinion. This thick cut bread is perfectly pillowy—excellent for french toast.
Flour – You might not be used to adding flour to your french toast batter, but trust me on this one…it’s exactly what you’ve been missing! The flour helps make the final product just a little fluffier and even more enjoyable!
Eggs – I used 3 large eggs for this recipe.
Cinnamon – One of the most important flavors for french taste is the cinnamon. If you’re a mega-cinnamon lover, feel free to add even more!
Sugar (brown AND white) – Some people don’t put any sugar at all in their french toast recipes, but I think the extra bit of sweetness makes it that much better. Brown and white together make for a better depth of flavor. Truly excellent!
Vanilla Extract – Just like with the cinnamon, the vanilla is necessary for achieving that classic french toast taste. Imitation vanilla is perfectly fine for this recipe if you don’t have pure on hand!
Salt – Just a pinch to help bring out the sweetness!
How to make air fryer french toast
Step one: Preheat your air fryer to 350. If your air fryer does not have a preheating function, run it at 350 degrees for 5 minutes before adding your french toast.
In a large mixing bowl, mix together all ingredients well.

Step 2: Dip each slice of bread into your mixture. Remove and let soak for at least 3 minutes before cooking.
Soaking the bread helps it to absorb more of the flavor. Don’t worry, it won’t come out soggy!

Step 3: Cut a sheet of parchment paper to fit your air fryer basket. Line as many pieces of french toast as will fit on a single layer in your air fryer and cook for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Step 4: French toast is done when it is golden brown in color. Be careful when removing your french toast from the air fryer as it will be hot.

Step 5: Remove french toast from the air fryer and serve warm!

How to serve french toast

I love to sift some powdered sugar on top of my french toast and serve it with maple syrup!
Another amazing option would be to serve it with whipped cream and strawberries. It all depends on what you and your family are in the mood for!
